Hearing rumours of british producers refusing model's if there cert's are over 30 days old.
I thought this rule only apply to over the pond not this country as it takes a few weeks to get your results if you don't go private. Maybe i am wrong but i haven't heard if this law has changed, After all this is the United Kingdom not United States of America.
I know if you work for a American company here they will refuse to use you if the your certs are over a month.
It's bad enough that our prime minister has his head stuck up bush backside.

We are talking with other agency's, many producers to set a standard in the UK industry. It is still early days but we hope to get all the producers along with the Television X and The Adult Channel together in the next few weeks to discuss this.
There are three main reasons, the first is so all the performers in either boy girl or girl girl scenes to know that each other are tested in the last 30 days for HIV & STD's. For them to be safe has to be the most important.
The second is to show the UK public the the UK Adult Industry is a professional industry, and not some sad dirty industry that uses people and does not care.
The third reason is that when people are out of action for a period of time, producers may have to cancel productions at a great cost to themselves. So evrybody looses out along with the buying public as they then have to wait a little longer for the new DVD/ VHS that they have been waiting for.
We want everybody to be aware of what can happen if people are not tested, also when a performer picks up an STD they have to stop work for up to 2 weeks or longer. Which cost them money. If everybody is tested ever 30 days and there is a breakout of something, then it will be spotted sooner and it has less chance of being passed on to more people.
In general the UK Adult Industry is a very clean place, but things do come in to it every now and again, and if we can reduce the risk of this, then I see that as a way forward.
You have to remember that not everybody will show signs of them carrying a STD, so a test will also give everybody the oppurtunity to get a complete health check and if anything does show up, it can be treated, which of course will stop any problems for those people later in life as some STD's can cause problems further down the road if not treated.
I trust that this gives you a better idea why there has been so much talk recently with regards 30 day HIV & STD tests, and why some producers and performers and not willing to work with people who are not fully up to date with the tests.
I truly hope that we can work together with every producer and performer to set up a standard test period of 30 days for HIV & STD and to make the UK Adult Industry a more professional place for us all to work in. We will of course keep everybody informed of the out come both here and on the news desk.

Re: Hiv Certs JFT Media's post
I had to go up to the Indigo Clinic today to have my blood test for checking my Hepititus B vaccination antibodies, I found out from one of the health advisor that some models have been sent home from shoots because there H.I.V Cert was only just older than 30 days. Because of this they advised me to get another full panel done while i was there.
Until now every 2mths testing was good enough , but the incubation period for H.I.V is 3 mths and its not even an legal requirement for us to be tested every 30 days yet!! and its the models like Myself that might only do adult movies once in a while, but the well known ones that work more this understandable.
If the uk industry is going to end up like Americans then the rule should be made law by the goverment rather than descretion of the individual companies but that doesn't mean i'm against the idea cos in this day and age model's attend (parties) ect and its better to be safe than sorry as our cert is our licence to work.
And i hope that all models out there read this as no one should be sent home from a shoot as travelling expenses are often payed by the models first when travelling is covered. Whats the likely hood of the model being reimbursed if thier cert is unsatisfactory.
P.S this posting is not ment to offend anyone

Re: Pro's in the States are going back to condoms
Hi Guys
This is why me & all models i shoot use condoms, the men we use are always quite happy to use them & with good editing the cut to the final cum-shot looks as good and is much much safer for all involved, a lot of pro American stars are going back to them because of HIV scares. I've been offered silly money before to do a shoot bare-back but it's not worth the risk, i hope some of the new younger models reading this will think twice when producers tell them 'this is how pro's do this' because at the end of the day most genuine producers will be happy to let the cast use condoms,
if they feel better the film comes out better.
This is a interesting thread and i'd like to know others opions Pro or Amateur.
love kim

Emma
The idea is that all models will have a test every 30 days if they are working every week or not. So when a shoot comes up, they will not have the problem of being sent home if their test is over 30 days because everybody should be ensuring that they are in that period.
Some producers are looking to sell content to the US, and some US companies are stating that all content they buy has to come with tests under 30 days.
Lets get away from this legal matter, and look at the UK Adult Industry putting it's own performers first and doing all they can to make this industry as safe as possible. If we waited for a law to be passed, it would take years, and I for one, would not like to wait that long and if the industry can set this up itself then again, it shows it is becoming more of a professional industry.
You have to think, are you now going to be happy to work with someone who does not take the same care and thought as you and many others who do take the time and effort to get their full HIV & STD test every 30 days.
Also if producers state's when making a booking with a model, either direct or via an agent that they require a full HIV & STD test under 30 days, then the model should not take the booking if they know that they do not have the right paperwork. So if the model then turns up to the job, hoping it will be over looked, then yes they should be sent home without any payments for travel being made.
As you know, with Indigo offering a free service for the Adult Industry, all it takes is planning to keep up to date. Your health and that of your fellow performers is worth that, don't you agree.
One thing I would also say to anyone that makes a booking at Indigo, if they can not make there time, can they make sure they phone and cancel as soon as possible, so that space can be then used by someone else.

That is a fare point about condoms, but I must point out where you say "most genuine producers will be happy to let the cast use condoms" that this is not correct. If a producer wants condoms then they will use them for everyone, and not just let the performers pick and choose.
If someone only wants to work with condom, that is there choice and will be respected, they just may not be able to work with certain producers and on some shoots as the clients they are selling to do not want to buy that sort of content.
I am glad that people are now talking about this issue and that performers will start to act on it for there own and fellow performers health.

Re: Hiv Certs
There's part of me agreeing with Jason (Jft media) but also a bit with emma and video kim:
1/ I understand what Jason saying here,(but question is, it's alright the main producers and photographers do it this way but what about the smaller businesses or real amateurish companies who want to shoot content but can't wait for models to keep updating the paperwork all the while, there usually tend to go by this 3 month tests.(hope that makes sense in some way).
2/ i'm like Emma i pay for mine but i pay for 3 months but i only tend to use the certs for 2 months at a time and rebook for a new appointment(which the clinic i go to i have to book a month in advance now because it is getting harder to get a appointment now in my local GUM clinic, mind you i don't know what the people of the midlands are doing, muist be shagging like beavers)But i have to wait at least a average of 12 days for all my results to come back, mind you i do tend to over do it with the jabs i have from HIV,HEP B,HEP C,Syphilis,Chlaymidia, and other booster programmes via the NHS.( i don't usually do no more than 5/6 hard b/g,though i have done a bit this time round but all the shoots i've done except 1 have been condom shoots, which before anyone asks it was part of the jobs or content that i was hired for,or the girls do b/g but condom only.(i don't mind or fussed any more if its hard or condom only,as long as i getting paid for hire of scenes i'm happy.
3/ Kim is right in a way i've noticed more people are now doing shoots with condoms,i noticed it in US last year when i was there in Winter, but like i said it's starting to happen over here with certain companies.
Now i don't want to be a misery guts, but maybe it goes back to what Jason said on this thread,I don't do many Gangbang shoots now because i have witnessed on these shoots the amount of excuses from Blokes who do b/g (I don't mean the proper male models)but the ones who do it now and again and have really out of date paperwork(i know one company sacked one male model because he forged his hiv certs(which put me,and 2 other male models and 2 girls at massive risk because of this blokes idiotic selfishness, which i praise the producer for taking action against him) but not having a new one done and tipexed out the date he had test done and put a different date on it.)To be honest in my 4 and a half years doing this i never had any paperwork problems from girls(there always seem to be recently done, all dated etc,but maybe the girls get tested regularly because there get more work than the males),alright not all the blokes take the piss, but like i said there are one or two who really take the piss with the paperwork(but its usually the ones who don't do it very often and do it now and again and become sloppy and lazy not to retake a new test),So maybe Jason is right in a way with what he is saying.
anyway just thought i bring my views in to this subject

Re: Hiv Certs
I don't really understand why people don't see that it's alot better for every one to get their tests done every month just for there own safety. Isn't that why you get you test done??? I mean I know we do a job that some people agree with and others don't but at the end of the day don't you want to be safe when you finish working in the biz? I'd rather cum out of the biz when i want to not when some one has given me some thing I can't get rid of because people couldn't see why testing every month was the way to go.
At the end of the day I'm sure ever single model agrees with me that I sure as hell didn't get in to this bizness to risk my health so i take every percaution to take care of it.
