Hi

I've just read that Spice Platinum is going to be encrypted in Viaccess2 in January, do you know a specific date as I was going to purchase an Irdeto subscription today but will hold off for the Viacess version if it's due for launch in the next month or so, thanks in advance.

Just had confirmation from Spice that they will be transmitting in Viaccess from the 2nd week in January which is good news to those with euro Satellite receivers.

The 24 hour channel will begin broadcasts using Viaccess 2, and its current Irdeto 2 format in January 2004. Smartcards will be available at the same cost as the Irdeto 2 service. "24 hour channel"!? Is the Irdeto service now 24 hours or just evenings/nights? Is the evening/night block of programmes just repeated through the day?

It shows about 8 hours of movies a day which are repeated. See for further info.
