Can't help you with the newsgroups, etc, but would be interested to know whereabouts in Surrey you are.
Cheers

Re: Collateral
Tom Cruise's defining performance is in Jerry Maguire. Collateral is probably his second best film, followed by Magnolia.
I also thought he proved himself in Eyes Wide Shut, though few people have any good things to say about this film, personally I loved it.

Re: country music?
I was being deliberately a bit provocative there. Agree totally that most New Country (Faith Hill- Garth Brooks etc) is just embarrassing, and the old Country and Western of Kenny Rogers, Glen Campbell et al is not a lot better. The whole alt.country movement (Cowboy Junkies, Alabama 3, Johnny Dowd ...

Re: country music?
You can't dismiss all country music. What about Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Dylan in his 'Nashville Skyline' period, Woody Guthrie, Townes van Zandt; or more recently Lucinda Williams or Emmylou Harris? The fact that most of you won't even have heard of some of these artists is proof of your ...

Re: Collateral
Definitely one of his best performances I would say.
Agreed, the ending is poor. But the first 90 minutes are truly excellent. I love the scene in the jazz club...

Collateral
Just wanted to canvas opinion on this (IMO) much better than average Michael Mann movie.
Was anybody else rooting for the Cruiser?
Not as good as Heat, but a cracking piece of entertainment.

Re: Well Done England
I said I fancied West Indies to beat Pakistan. Like most cricket fans I have a soft spot for the West Indies side and I think they have done well to get to the final. Beating South Africa was a sweet moment for all neutrals. This could be Lara's great swansong, but Gayle and Sarwan are the men in ...

Re: Well Done England
I will say this for Warne- he is a great player who would have graced the game in any age.
Without him Australia look vulnerable.
England to face West Indies in the final. I know who my money is on...
And as for the Ashes. Give us that urn back now, save yourself some bother later.
