Re: Google's New Operating System
Google OS shouldnt become clooged because its basically a thin Linux shell with a built in web browser, with some bits from Android (Googles linux os for mobile devices, such as phones etc.) The idea is that this thin client will use web based apps, such as googles new "cloud" based email/IM ...

Re: Pilots having laser pens pointed at them...
Oh dear... this is so funny its almost sad. Does anyone still believe this urban legand? Think about it... have you ever watched the beam of a helicopter search light try to stay in place? Now this beam is big, bright, and blody powerfull and it has trouble keeping a whole human in its beam. Now ...

Re: ready for more cctv?
Hummmm.... Funny how these things are only reported and news worthy when they affect london or the home counties. In Ilkeston (Erewash council) we've had a CCTV requirement for all premeses opening "late" even if its something like a chippy and all licenced premesis no matter what time they open for ...

Re: So what exactly is a fair sentence?
Personally for the death by dangerous driving incedent I think it should have been much higher, especially as I believe the max is now 14 years. That said I'm not sure when that passed into law and if the incident was prior. There was, I'm guessing, no proof that the driver was using the laptop and ...

Re: richard hammond & morrisons
Seems strange that if sansburrys are paying circa 1M that they'd not use him as much... surely it would be a better buisiness model to get one new advert a week for that kind of cash :-/ Mind you... as he's now seen as TMATOTY (The most annoying twat of the year) its probably a good idea hes not on ...
Re: Backups
I use xxcopy from pixielab inc. (do a web search) Although its a comand line utility its way more powerfull than most GUI software on the market. Takes about an hour or so to learn anything more than a basic copy everything, and do lots of data level checking and date stamp and delete expired stuff ...

Re: Video Camera Question
I thought it was a gimick, but the video capabilities on canon's 50dMk2 DSLR seem amazing from some of the clips now doing the rounds. That said, i'm not convinced that (despite its quality) its the way forward because of the physical characteristics of the slr body... maybe if they shove the ...
